With a brand new website comes a brand new showreel. So here it is!

Triggerfinger gave us permission to use one of their best songs on their latest album (What Grabs Ya?) to support our showreel. The combination is quite explosive.

So set the video to fullscreen, turn your volume to 'ARE YOU MAD!' and get blown away.

A data body is a collection of personal data that consists of all the information you have ever left behind through your buying behaviour, mobile phone, surfing habits, online social communities et cetera. Everywhere you fill in something personal it immediately enters your data body, which then grows without you even being aware of it. And the only thing you have to do is be a consumer or civilian. Therefore our existence has become increasingly transparent on virtually every level. Decisions are aligned with our desires and needs, and technology is used to track us as accurately as possible.

The ‘Transparency Suit' visualizes the unseen flow of information around us (in this case as a result of our buying behaviour). It shows us an aesthetic and expressive solution that reveals a new field of visual code. The hidden information of the data body is made visible through a second skin, a suit that falls outside of the everyday experience.

We live in a time where everything or everyone can be upgraded or ‘pimped'. After the worldwide acceptance of plastic surgery, it was time to subject our worldly possessions (Pimp my Ride) and digital identities (Facebook) to an esthetical and/or functional upgrade. So it's likely that eventually everything will be pimp-able. Even our own planet.

Studio Smack presents ‘PIMP MY PLANET". A short animated film and game trailer in which the possibilities of playing God are explored. Redesigning the planet according to your ideals or aesthetic values. What are the consequences of your actions?

This work was part of an exhibition called ‘HIER&DAAR' in the summer of 2009. At the invitation of art institutes MU and KOP, 20 promising artists and designers from Breda and Eindhoven, all born after 1970, show new work in two groups both in Eindhoven and in Breda.

Silver Award Winner at European Design Awards 2010 (cat. Motion Graphics) and Nominee for the Dutch Design Awards 2010.

This work was commissioned by Stichting KOP and Stichting MU

Chickens interact in incredibly defined manners and form complicated social structures. Contrary to popular believe, Scientific research at the University of Sidney pointed out that chickens living in a battery cage are happier. Their free range sisters suffer from more stress, constantly living in fear of predators.

Award-winning Typo-Animation that gives you a clear impression of the enormous amount of visual stimuli that plague us every day. Due to the immense scale of the visual bombardment, the commercial effectiveness has become utterly dubious.

Common knowledge is too often based on assumption. In the VARA television program Is dat eigenlijk wel zo? (roughly translating as O, really?) this process is up for review.

The behaviour of individuals on a microscopical scale, naturally interacting and organizing themselves. By forming a social structure, they rise above the sum of all. Narrated by Sir David Attenborough (without him knowing, though).

Camera systems have been programmed to predict human behaviour and recognize the risk potential of individuals. Forget artificial intelligence, this is artificial judgment, and its for your own security.

Trivia: A year after production, the protagonist returned to the shooting location and was questioned by security. Why? Because he came across as suspicious on the surveillance cams.
